Pray On It is the second single from James Wyatt Crosby‘s upcoming debut album. This is a shimmery pop song with hymn-like repetition and great production. This song is in the style we’ve come to expect from bands like fellow Southern-Ontarians Caribou and Junior Boys. The beat is classic pop and the repeating lyrics build momentum as the song progresses. James Wyatt Crosby is in great company with this sound and here’s hoping the rest of the album is just as great.
Is this a religious dance floor jam? It might be. Frankly, I can’t tell if this is Christian dance music or if this is a more general spiritual high-five telling us to believe in ourselves and be our own deities. Does it matter if it is? I don’t know. The jury is still out.
